Nancy was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Textiles and Interior Design in 1973. For over eight years, she headed up her own successful Interior Design practice. Over the years, Nancy has been very committed to numerous non-profit organizations within her community with which she has had a personal connection. Her volunteer and consulting efforts have benefited The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, The Lung Connection, Inc., Denver, CO, The Alzheimer?s Association of Santa Barbara, CA, The Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra and Direct Relief International. She has also served on the Board of Directors of The Joffrey Ballet in Los Angeles, CA.
Leisure time persuits include entertaining friends and family with barbeques and her gourmet cooking talents, hiking and traveling both near and far, discovering the food, crafts and cultures of countries Nancy enjoys visiting.
Nancy Somberg is also an accomplished glass artisan. She has studied with several renowned glass artists in Seattle, WA and has sold her work in numerous galleries across the United States.
